On Wednesday June 18, 2014, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cleveland hosted their Annual Tribute Luncheon at The Club at Key Center.  This event brings together Law, Banking, and Business Services firms to recognize the partnerships that Big Brothers Big Sisters has with the Law Schools of Cleveland.

Since 1990, students from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and Cleveland-Marshall College of Law have mentored hundreds of youth from Greater Cleveland through our School-Based Programs.

The Annual Tribute Luncheon also includes the presentation of the Warren Culbreath Memorial Award. This award was created in honor of Warren Culbreath, a former Little in the program. In 2001, at the age of 12 years old, Warren was tragically killed.  The Warren Culbreath Memorial Award is given to one student each year who exemplifies qualities the Warren displayed including: honesty, kindness, good conduct in and out of the classroom, self-confidence, a concern for others, and an enthusiastic willingness to learn and succeed.

This year’s award was presented to Ra’Monyé Clinton. Ra’Monyé was nominated by her Big Sister, Malea Hetrick. This was the second year in row that she has won this award. Malea describes Ra’Monyé as “an amazing young woman. She loves learning, and people, and is constantly looking for ways to grow. Her passion and heart continue to impress me. She exemplifies the goals of Big Brothers Big Sisters, and is an incredible spokesperson for the program, without being fully aware of it.”

This year, with the support of 14 sponsors, BBBS raised over $8,000 to continue supporting our School-Based partnerships with the Law Schools.

A BIG thank you to all of our sponsors:
